The clinical work
Which teeth are being treated? Are extractions, scans, bone grafting, sinus work, or temporary teeth included if needed?
For U.S. patients considering dental implants, crowns, or full-mouth care in Turkey. Understand the treatment, the full estimate, the travel schedule, and what happens when you return home.
If you have been quoted for implants or extensive dental work in the U.S., the first question is whether an Istanbul proposal covers the same treatment and final result.
We can start with your existing plan, X-rays if available, and your goals. A dentist reviews the information for a preliminary proposal. You can then compare the proposed procedures, materials, visits, and estimated total. The in-person examination may change that plan.
Compare like for like. A single implant price rarely tells you the cost of the finished treatment and travel.

Ask for the implant system, crown or bridge material, number of teeth, and what the final restoration includes.
See the expected visits, time between stages, accommodation and transfers, payment schedule, and follow-up arrangements.
A preliminary estimate is based on records shared remotely. The treating dentist confirms suitability, scope, and final costs after an in-person examination.
Implant treatment can involve healing and a later visit. Crowns and other care may follow a different schedule.
Share your goals, dental records, and relevant health history for a preliminary dentist review and estimated plan.
The dentist examines you, confirms what is appropriate, and explains any changes before treatment begins.
Appointments are scheduled around your plan. If implants need healing before final teeth, the stages and return visit are explained.
Take home records and aftercare instructions, and plan how ongoing care or an urgent issue would be handled locally.
The American Dental Association notes that significant dental procedures may require months of healing and follow-up. Your dentist determines the timeline for your case. Read the ADA’s guidance on dentistry abroad ↗
A useful plan answers the difficult questions before you commit to travel.
A good decision needs more than a price and a smile photo.
Ask any overseas provider for the treating dentist’s name and qualifications, the clinic location, the proposed materials and procedures, and a written explanation of follow-up. You should understand what happens if the in-person findings change the plan or if you need care after returning to the U.S.
The exact answers depend on your dentist’s assessment and the written terms of your plan.
Some implant plans require a healing period and a later visit for the final teeth. Other treatments may fit into one visit. Ask for your own schedule, including what happens between stages, before booking flights.
A remote estimate is provisional. Ask what it includes, which findings could change the scope, and how any additional work would be explained and approved after your examination.
Coverage varies. Original Medicare generally does not cover routine dental implants or dentures; check your own plan for treatment abroad and follow-up in the U.S. See Medicare’s dental coverage guidance ↗
